Jim Shore continues to create unique and inspiring collectible figurines that cover an ever growing number of areas. Jim did not become a household name overnight. When he first decided to step away from his job as an engineer he was taking a huge chance but he believed in himself and his talent and took a few of his pieces to a trade show hoping to get enough orders to manufacture them even though they did not have a factory to do so in. At that same trade show, Jim made a couple of key contacts that allowed them to fill the orders that they received. This initial success allowed Jim and his team the opportunity to dream big and after just a few short years his newly created company, Design America, had over 350 employees. It was at this point that Jim knew that in order for him to return his focus to designing instead of being focused on running a business he needed to find a partner that would allow that to happen. The future of Jim Shore collectibles

As Jim looks towards the future he continues to expand his creative outlets. While maintaining focus on his roots as a collectible figurine designer, Jim will look to expand the Jim Shore brand into other areas. These areas include working to create a more encompassing lifestyle brand that includes more functional home décor items and fashion accessories that incorporate his distinct designs. These intriguing new formats that compliment current Jim Shore items from companies such as including Enesco, Department 56, Evergreen/Cypress and Manual Woodworkers and Weavers

How long has Jim been designing his series? Jim's been creating his ongoing line for Enesco ever since 2001, but Jim's been a working artist creating fantastic products virtually all of his expert existence. Jim estimates he's developed more than 3,000 Santa's in his profession. A number of his older work can be found on auction web sites like eBay or may be purchased via private collectors. How are Jim Shore figurines made? Because of Jim's busy schedule, it's no longer achievable for him to sculpt each and every item. Now he offers a comprehensive drawing of a brand new piece to some group of master sculptors, handpicked and trained by Jim more than the course of numerous years.
