Samuel Butcher is the original creator of the original Precious Moments collectible figurines. He's a person of fantastic religious beliefs, and his respectful spirit has encouraged him to adore all people. He didn't always really feel connected to his family and early on he knew he was interested in art. His siblings and father were interested in motorcycles and autos, while Sam liked to study and sketch. This did not usually get the support of his father.

Early in zing he had several individuals who motivated him and given a hand to encourage him to walk with the Lord. He ultimately got involved in childrens ministry, the Children's Evangelism Fellowship, and drawing illustrations on Christian album covers. It had been in those times in his life he met his future organization partner, Bill Biel.

Sam had never actually intended for the drawings of tear - drop eyed youngsters to be for any person else to view other than to console family and acquaintances.
